  • This role is critical for the delivery of Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety (ANROWS) knowledge production function. This is a senior position and part of the ANROWS leadership team. The position will lead the development and implementation of ANROWS’s strategic vision and activities related to knowledge production, provide strategic advice on ending violence against women, manage and supervise ANROWS’s Senior Research Officers, and will collaborate with other members of the ANROWS leadership team and our National Plan partners and other stakeholders to deliver strategic goals.

  • Key attributes and experience that will need to be demonstrated include:

    • Proven expertise in one or more areas of violence against women and/or their children, including an understanding of the role and impact of gender and other inequalities in relation to that violence. 

    • Experience designing, supervising and managing social science research on gender-related issues preferably including work in the field of gender and violence.

    • Experience working effectively with government agencies and non-government organisations in formulating research topics, conducting research and applying the results of research.

    • Experience supervising staff and demonstrated ability to lead a team to meet organisational objectives within strict deadlines.

    • Strong record of published research.

    • Post-graduate qualifications or equivalent experience in research design and implementation, in the social sciences (preferably in sociology, social psychology, criminology, or socio-legal studies).

    • Expertise across the range of social science methodologies which may include quantitative, qualitative and applied research.

    • Demonstrated interpersonal and networking skills, including proven capacity to build and maintain positive professional relationships and partnerships and capacity for negotiation and collaboration with a diversity of organisations and categories of stakeholders.

    • Exceptional analytic and strategic thinking, written and oral communication skills.

  • The Chief Impact and Growth Officer (CIGO) is an executive leadership role at Key Assets Australia (KAA).

    • Post graduate degree in Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field.

    • Extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the non-profit sector with a focus on child welfare or related community services will be required.

    • Demonstrated understanding of human centred design and Lived Experience.

    • Business development and marketing skills.

    • Proven track record of driving innovation and managing change within organisations.

    • Strong analytical skills with experience in impact measurement and data-driven decision- making aligned to strategic plan.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
